I have always loved music and sometimes the right song can really give me a kick up the bum and get me moving and trying to fight another day. I thought I’d share some of the songs that made it to the list. Some are downright cheesy but it’s my playlist so it’s allowed. 😉 These songs aren’t in any particular order as I put playlist on shuffle.
‘This is Me’ – The greatest Showman sang by the sensational Keala Settle, this makes me get up from the stumbles I encounter and remind myself I can and will be unapologetic about living. (Read this blog post dedicated to This is Me)
‘What About Us’ – P!nk at her greatest, it’s soulful and less punchy, but still reminds me that many feel forgotten or ignored in life.
‘Fight Song’ – I have a love-hate relationship with this song. I find a lot cliche but sometimes I find myself playing it on Youtube. So it gets a place in the playlist but it’s not my most listened to.
‘Try’– Colbie Calliat – I never know how to pronounce her last name, but it’s a beautiful song that makes my cheesy heart happy.
‘Make Someone Happy’ – Jimmy Durante- It is a classic that always makes me think of the end of Sleepless in Seattle. It’s uplifting in a classic way.
‘I Was Here’ – Beyonce at her finest. Enough said.
‘Sugar’– Maroon 5 the music video is enough to crack a smile for me and it makes me think of happier times.
‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’– I loved the trolls film ( Yes, I’m 5 years old) and this song always makes me think of mini trolls and glitter.
‘Ho-Hey’ – The Lumineers. It’s a little old but makes me smile all the time. It holds a special place in my heart, one full of sunny car journeys and possibilities.
‘Roar’ – Katy Perry. Quite possibly my most cheesy entry yet but the lyrics are motivating in itself
‘I’m Still Standing’ – Elton John. Metaphorically standing naturally, but it’s a classic for a reason.
‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, who couldn’t be happier after the idea of hope and love getting you through life?
‘Stuck In The Middle’– Stealers Wheel. An accurate representation of adulting.
‘Keep Your Head Up’– Andy Grammer. It’s a super catchy song with a positive message of everything will be ok.
Music is personal taste so if you have other songs please comment suggestions below I’m interested to see what people use to motivate them or make them happier. I know this is a little different from my usual, is this something you’d like to see more of? Comment and let me know.
Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you next time.
“Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” is one of my absolute favourites. I also love “Stuck in the Middle”. Music is all that gets me out of bed sometimes.
